Oklahoma: Privacy bill introduced in Oklahoma House of Representatives

Oklahoma State Representatives, Collin Wake and Josh West, introduced, on 9 September 2021, House Bill ('HB') 2969 for the Oklahoma Computer Data Privacy Act 2022 to the U.S. House of Representatives. The bill would apply to businesses that do business in the State of Oklahoma, and that satisfy one or more of the following criteria:

In addition, the bill would create new obligations for businesses including the requirement to enter into Data Processing Agreements and have a privacy policy, which should provide information such as:

Moreover, the bill would provide for the introduction of data subject rights such as the right to access, deletion, opt-out, data portability, and rectification. Lastly, the bill would be enforced by the state Attorney General's office.
